Sporting KC’s Dom Dwyer, Sydney Leroux announce their marriage on Twitter

This is a special Valentine’s Day for Sporting Kansas City star Dom Dwyer and his new bride.

On Saturday, Dwyer tweeted photos of his girlfriend, U.S. national team star Sydney Leroux, with a big ol’ ring on her finger and holding up a jersey with her No. 2 and the last name Dwyer.

The new Mrs. Dwyer tweeted this:

And Mrs. Dwyer, who plays for Seattle in the National Women’s Soccer League, tweeted:

The couple told People magazine they bought a house in Kansas City.

“Juggling our careers and relationship is very difficult, which is why we decided to wed privately in January,” the Dwyers said in a statement. “We wanted to announce our marriage at an appropriate time when we were together and at a time that suited our families. We also wanted to make sure that we told all of our close friends and teammates before we announced it publicly.”

Personally, I think they’re made for each other. I mean who else would do this?
