High school cheerleader fighting cancer brought to tears by tribute from football team
Consider this a reminder that cancer sucks but having a strong support system can make a huge difference.
Last week, the Foothill High School football team in Palo Cedro, Calif., showed its support for a cheerleader who is battling leukemia. As they took the field, the players laid an orange rose at the feet of Ashley Adamietz. Orange is the color for leukemia awareness.
KRCR-TV reported that senior Ryan Caetano came up with the idea, and that his teammates were glad to join.
“She’s part of the Cougar family, so why not let her know that we’re all here for her,” Caetano told the network. “We are. So I wanted to let that be known to everybody, and especially to her, for what she’s going through.”
