Sporting KC captain Matt Besler suffers concussion while training with U.S. national team

Sporting Kansas City captain Matt Besler suffered a concussion while training with the United States men's national team, ESPN reported Friday.

He did not play in the Americans' loss in Guatemala on Friday.

The U.S. returns home to face Guatemala in another World Cup qualifying match Tuesday in Columbus.

Besler will go through concussion protocol before returning to the field.

Sporting Kansas City returns to action on April 2 with a home match against Real Salt Lake.
