Sporting KC forward Krisztian Nemeth suspended for 2016 season opener
Sporting Kansas City forward Krisztian Nemeth was suspended for the opening game of the 2016 season for kicking a ball off the the head of Portland's Lucas Melano during a playoff match, Major League Soccer ruled Friday.
In Sporting KC's playoff loss in Portland on Oct. 29, Nemeth was whistled for fouling Melano, who fell to the ground. Immediately after the call, Nemeth struck the ball, and it hit Melano in the side of the head.
