Sporting Kansas City’s first offseason addition is a recognizable one.

The club reached an agreement Wednesday to bring midfielder Lawrence Olum back to Kansas City after he departed the team last offseason for Malaysian club Kedah FA.

Sporting KC also re-signed Seth Sinovic and Jon Kempin on Wednesday. Terms of all three agreements were not disclosed.

Olum, 31, made 83 appearances with Sporting KC from 2011-2014, including a 112-minute showing in the team’s MLS Cup victory against Real Salt Lake in 2013. He made 21 starts in 2014, most of them as a defensive midfielder, before signing with Kedah FA.

Sinovic, 28, has started 152 matches for the team since 2011. A left back, he battled injuries, most notably a concussion, during the 2015 season, limiting him to 11 appearances.

Kempin, 22, the club’s first homegrown signing, served as the backup goalkeeper to Tim Melia last season. He has maintained a standing within the U.S. men’s national team system, most recently appearing for the under-23 team during an exhibition against Brazil last month.

▪ Major League Soccer announced Wednesday that every club will receive $800,000 in targeted allocation money for the 2016 season and an additional $800,000 for the 2017 season. Targeted allocation money can be used to pay players who make more than the maximum salary ($457,500) to prevent those players from counting toward one of the three allowed designated-player spots. Teams received $500,000 in TAM during the 2015 summer transfer window.
