Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber’s career-best season was recognized Sunday with a spot on the annual MLS Best XI team.

Feilhaber, 30, set career highs in goals (10) and assists (15) in 2015 — only the third player in franchise history to reach double digits in both categories in the same season. He was second in MLS in assists, behind Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco.

The MLS Best XI is selected by votes from players, media members and front-office personnel.

Feilhaber is the first Sporting KC player to receive the honor since Matt Besler and Graham Zusi made the team in 2013.

The remainder of the team was: goalkeeper Luis Robles (New York Red Bulls); defenders Laurent Ciman (Montreal Impact), Kendall Waston (Vancouver Whitecaps FC) and Matt Hedges (FC Dallas); midfielders Fabian Castillo (FC Dallas), Dax McCarty (New York Red Bulls) and Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew SC); and forwards Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), Kei Kamara (Columbus Crew SC) and Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy).
