Matt Besler, Graham Zusi chosen to U.S. provisional roster ahead of Mexico match
Sporting Kansas City captain Matt Besler and midfielder Graham Zusi were chosen to the U.S. men’s national team provisional roster for its CONCACAF Cup game against Mexico on Oct. 10.
The winner of the match will receive a spot in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
The 35-player provisional roster released Tuesday will be whittled down to 23 players for the match.
Besler made his first on-field appearance with the national team in seven months on Sept. 4, when he subbed into a match against Peru.
Zusi played with the Americans during their fourth-place finish in the CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer.
