Comets to face Baltimore on Sunday in rematch of last year’s championship series

The Comets’ game Sunday has a litany of story lines.

First, Missouri can clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Baltimore Blast at the Independence Events Center. Kickoff is at 3 p.m.

The game is also a rematch of last year’s Major Indoor Soccer League championship series, which Baltimore won 2-0.

And Baltimore is tied for first in the standings with Milwaukee, while the Comets are in third place 2 1/2 games back.

So there’s a lot for the Comets to play for.

Additionally, the Comets will honor members of the armed forces in what the team calls its Military Appreciation Game. The Comets are planning to wear military-themed jerseys for the game. At halftime, there will be an army swearing-in ceremony.
