  • Sporting KC signed Capita to a 3½-year contract with an option, pending P-1 visa.

  • Capita offers elite pace and versatility after 12 goals and 2 assists in 38 games.

Sporting Kansas City has scored just twice in the team’s first three games of the 2026 Major League Soccer season.

Forward Dejan Joveljic can certainly carry the load, but he’s going to need some help when it comes to scoring goals.

Sporting KC is going to try to provide some with the addition of Osvaldo Pedro Capemba, more commonly known as “Capita,” on a transfer from Polish club Radomiak Radom.

Sporting announced the acquisition Friday, signing him to a 3 1/2-year contract with an option. The 24-year-old winger will occupy an international spot once he receives his P-1 visa.

Radomiak said it received a club-record $2.3 million fee, plus bonuses, from Sporting KC.

“We are excited to welcome Capita to Kansas City,” SKC general manager David Lee said. “Capita is a quick, direct and dynamic winger who will add an attacking threat to the squad, while his ability to play anywhere across the frontline will be valuable for our coaching staff.”

Quick is a bit of an understatement. Capita had highest top speed in the 2024-25 Polish Ekstraklasa season, at 21.9 mph.

Born and raised in Angola, Capita has had quite the journey in his young career. He came through the Academia de Futebol de Angola and played for Primeiro de Agosto, based in Luanda, Angola, his hometown.

His first pro club was Trofense in the Portuguese second division, where he scored four goals in 10 games after joining mid-season. Then he moved to Lille B and was loaned to Royal Mouscron in Belgium for the 2020-2021 season. After a return to Lille B and another stint at Trofense, he proceeded to Estrela da Amadora in the Portuguese top flight.

Capita spent the 2023-24 season on loan to Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel. Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Capita moved to Radomiak Radom in the top flight of the Polish Ekstraklasa. With Radomiak he’s notched 12 goals and two assists in 38 appearances, a little over 2,000 minutes across all competitions.

He debuted for the Angolan National team at 19 in 2021 and has made three appearances.

Capita has played off both the right and left for Radomiak, even positioning as a “second striker” at times. He has predominantly played off the left-hand side, however.

Calvin Harris has been impressive on the left wing for Sporting KC to start the 2026 MLS season. He’s been directly involved in both goals for Kansas City. But he also played off the right for large portions of last season with Colorado.

Time will tell how Wicky chooses to make things work in KC, but Capita will not be available to play for Sporting this weekend (or until he receives his P-1 visa).
