Sporting KC 2025 schedule released: From Lionel Messi & Miami to MLS regular-season games
Major League Soccer unveiled its regular-season schedule for 2025 on Thursday afternoon.
Sporting will open its 2025 regular-season campaign on the road when it faces Austin FC on February 22, 2025. Sporting’s home MLS opener will be played on March 1 against the San Jose Earthquakes.
Technically, Sporting KC will begin play at home in 2025, with its two-leg series against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in the Concacaf Champions Cup kicking off prior to the start of the regular season. Sporting will host Inter Miami at Children’s Mercy Park on February 18, with kickoff coming at 7 p.m. that evening.
Sporting’s schedule is a bit more travel-friendly overall than in years past. The toughest stretch will be a three-game road trip played over eight days, sending Sporting to Portland (May 10), St. Louis City SC (May 14), and back to the West Coast for a first-ever matchup with expansion team San Diego FC (May 17).
Sporting’s only home match against St. Louis is April 5. The addition of San Diego to the Western Conference means fewer games against marquee rivals, such as the nearby Missouri-based club.
Here is the full 2025 match schedule for Sporting KC as of Thursday afternoon:
