Chance Myers is back.

Well, kind of.

Sporting Kansas City’s former No. 1 overall pick was available off the bench, for Saturday’s game against the Seattle Sounders, for the first time since suffering a left Achilles’ tear on May 23, 2014, but he didn’t appear in the match.

Myers was one of seven reserves to dress on the bench.

“It was great just to get back into the rhythm of everything again,” Myers said. “It’s one step closer to getting back out there.”

Myers feels healthy enough to play, he says, but he is still working on becoming 90 minutes fit.

▪ Dom Dwyer was held out of the starting lineup for a third straight match on Saturday, but he entered in the 58th minute as a substitute.

Dwyer has been nursing a variety of injuries recently, most notably lingering neck and groin injuries.

After setting the franchise’s single-season record with 22 goals last season, Dwyer has scored four goals in 2015.

▪ Former Sporting KC midfielder Uri Rosell led the "I Believe" chant before the match.
