Three-minute preview: Seattle Sounders at Sporting Kansas City
▪ WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, at Sporting Park
▪ TV/RADIO: KMCI-TV (Ch. 38); WHB (810 AM), KDTD (1340 AM)
▪ ABOUT SEATTLE (8-3-2, 26 points): The Western Conference leader will bring a short-handed lineup into Sporting Park. Brad Evans is with the U.S. national team. Osvaldo Alonso will serve a one-game suspension. Clint Dempsey could miss the game for the birth of his fourth child. And Obafemi Martins is questionable after having surgery on his nose earlier this week.
▪ ABOUT SPORTING KC (5-2-6, 21 points): Coming off its third four-goal output of the season, Sporting KC is the league’s top-scoring team with 21 goals. It will take a six-game unbeaten streak into the match. Dom Dwyer (neck/groin) and Jacob Peterson (hamstring) are questionable, while the team will remain without Paulo Nagamura (back), Seth Sinovic (concussion), Bernardo Anor (hamstring) and Krisztian Nemeth (international duty). If Dwyer is able to play, it would likely be in a reserve role.
▪ BOTTOM LINE: While it earned a draw in Seattle only two weeks ago, Sporting KC is winless in its past nine meetings with the Sounders.
▪ PREDICTION: Sporting KC 1, Seattle 1
