Seth Sinovic, Sporting KC excited about Royals reaching playoffs
Sporting KC defender Seth Sinovic helped bring his hometown a Major League Soccer championship last season. He’s hoping his favorite baseball team can do the same this year.
Sinovic, who graduated from Rockhurst High School, grew up a Royals fan. The Royals on Friday clinched their first postseason spot since 1985. Sinovic was born in 1987.
“I’m probably in the minority as far as being a bigger Royals fan than a Chiefs fan,” Sinovic said. “I’m excited for it. Hopefully they can make a run in the playoffs.”
Defender Kevin Ellis, also born in KC, believes the Royals will do just that. Asked for his prediction for the Royals, Ellis replied, “Win the World Series. I’m betting on them.”
Sinovic has already secured his tickets for a potential wild-card game in Kansas City — though he’s considered giving them up.
“I’ve been to a few (games this season), and I’ve got a terrible record when I go,” Sinovic said. “So I’m considering selling the tickets.”
