Sporting KC

Three-minute preview: Colorado Rapids at Sporting Kansas City

WHEN/WHERE: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, at Sporting Park

TV/RADIO: KMCI-TV (Ch. 38); WHB (810 AM), KDTD (1340 AM)

ABOUT COLORADO (1-2-7, 10 points): The Rapids broke an 18-match winless streak with a win against FC Dallas on April 10, but they're winless in the ensuing five matches. That record can be a bit misleading. Colorado is actually unbeaten on the road this season (1-0-4), and it owns the best road goal differential in MLS.

ABOUT SPORTING KC (3-2-5, 14 points): Sporting KC is starting to find its identity — or perhaps a return to its former one. It has allowed only 9.8 shots per game this season, the fewest in MLS. But it will be short-handed Saturday. Midfielder Graham Zusi is doubtful with a concussion he sustained last week against D.C. United; defender Marcel de Jong is out with a hip injury; and reserve midfielder Paulo Nagamura is doubtful with a lower back strain.

BOTTOM LINE: Sporting KC has been nothing short of dominant against Colorado in recent history — especially at home. The club is unbeaten over its past 10 MLS matches against the Rapids, and it hasn't lost a home match against Colorado since 2002, a streak that spans 14 games, including the postseason.

PREDICTION: Sporting KC 1, Colorado 0
