Sporting KC midfielder Paulo Nagamura close to returning from injury
Sporting Kansas City midfielder Paulo Nagamura is inching is way closer to a return to the club’s lineup.
Nagamura has not appeared in a match since injuring his ankle on July 6, but he took part in some side work during Wednesday’s practice.
Barring any setbacks, Nagamura is scheduled to rejoin the team for a full training session Thursday.
Sporting KC plays host to Toronto FC on Saturday, and Nagamura may be a candidate for selection.
“I hope he’s in the group this weekend,” coach Peter Vermes said. “We’re just taking it slow.”
