Benny Feilhaber named MLS Player of the Month

Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber was named the Major League Soccer Player of the Month for July by MLSsoccer.com. He is the third consecutive Sporting KC player to win the award, joining Dom Dwyer and Eric Kronberg.

“It feels great, but it’s a team award in many ways,” Feilhaber said. “I’m excited that we’re back in the Supporter’s Shield race and thanks to all the fans for voting.”

After recovering from a sprained left shoulder sustained on June 6, Feilhaber helped Sporting KC to the top of the Supporter’s Shield standings with a 4-0-1 record in the month of July. He leads the team with five assists and ranks second on the team with four goals.
