Three FC Kansas City players named to U.S. women’s national team roster

Interim U.S. women’s national team soccer coach Jill Ellis added FC Kansas City’s Becky Sauerbrunn, Lauren Holiday and Amy Rodriguez to the 22-player roster that will compete in a May 8 match against Canada in Winnipeg.

It will be played at 7 p.m. at Investors Group Field on the campus of the University of Manitoba and will be shown on ESPN3 and espnW.com.

The U.S. women’s team opened the year with a 1-0 victory against Canada on Jan. 31 in Frisco, Texas, and leads the all-time series 47-3-5.
