FC Kansas City will send two players to Algarve Cup

FC Kansas City defender Becky Sauerbrunn and forward Amy Rodriguez have been added to the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 24-player roster for the 2014 Algarve Cup in Portugal. The tournament will run from March 5-12.

The U.S. women’s team was placed in Group B and will face Japan, Sweden and Denmark in its first three games. If the team advances from its group, it will play against the champion from Group A, which features Germany, Norway, China PR and Iceland.

This year marks the 19th trip to the Algarve Cup for the U.S. team, which has won the tournament nine times, including last year.
