An ESPN original series, “NWSL: The Final Third,” will feature three NWSL teams and premiere on Wednesday on the ESPN App. The three-episode series will premiere on television (ESPN2) at 8 p.m. Central on March 2 and will be available to stream on Disney+ starting March 2 through the month.

The series chronicled the 2025 NWSL season of the Current, Washington Spirit and Angel City FC.

The Current and star midfielder Lo LaBonta will be featured in the first episode, followed by Angel City and productive rookie striker Riley Tiernan. It ends with the Spirit’s championship run featuring U.S. Women’s National Team star Trinity Rodman and midfielder Hal Hershfelt.

The series is produced by Words + Pictures, Omaha Productions and ESPN. Omaha Productions is the media company co-founded by Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and has won multiple Sports Emmys for its productions.

The Current and LaBonta were featured on the Amazon Prime docuseries “For the Win: NWSL,” which chronicled the 2024 season and featured the eight playoff teams that season. It was also produced by Words + Pictures.

LaBonta, whose goal celebrations and personality have made her a fan favorite, was also featured in a six-part Twitter reality TV series, “The Offseason,” which filmed a group of NWSL players preparing for the 2023 season.
