KC Current announce ground-breaking plan and timeline for new women’s soccer stadium
The KC Current announced that ground-breaking for its new stadium is just one month away.
On Twitter Tuesday morning, the team posted that it will break ground on its 11,500-seat facility on Oct. 6 at Berkley Riverfront Park.
Along with the announcement, the Current unveiled new renderings of the stadium. Check those out below:
Construction will be finished in time for the 2024 season.
The Current will be the first team in the National Women’s Soccer League to have its own home stadium that is not shared with a men’s team.
This summer, the team has seen record-setting attendance following a double-digit winning streak and a possible run at a spot in the playoffs. They’re currently ranked third in the league.
