FC Kansas City’s Vlatko Andonovski chosen Kevin Gray coach of the year
Although FC Kansas City and Missouri Comets coach Vlatko Andonovski has had a lot to celebrate in the past year, the latest award he received Monday night at Sporting Park may mean the most.
It tabbed him as Kevin Gray Adult Coach of the Year after he won titles with both teams in 2014, and it honored the late Kansas City Sport Commission president, who was a close friend.
“I am honored to be part of this ceremony among the best coaches in Kansas City and means even more because Kevin Gray was a friend of mine and our families are friends,” Andonovski said. “That really adds to this award.”
Andonovski, who played professionally with the Comets, led them to a Major Indoor Soccer League championship in March and then won the National Women’s Soccer League title in August with the Blues.
