Three FC Kansas City players called up to U.S. Women’s National Team

Three FC Kansas City players have been selected to the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 19-player roster in anticipation of an Aug. 20 match against Switzerland in Cary, N.C.

Defender Becky Sauerbrunn, midfielder Lauren Holiday and forward Amy Rodriguez will represent the Blues before returning to host the National Women’s Soccer League semifinals three days later at UMKC’s Durwood Stadium.

The U.S. has a 7-2-3 record so far this year and most recently played to a 2-2 draw against France on June 19. The game will kick off at 6:30 p.m. and be broadcast on ussoccer.com.
