Mexican national soccer team will play Paraguay at Arrowhead Stadium on March 31
The Mexican national team’s tour of the United States will reach Arrowhead Stadium this March.
Mexico is slated to travel to Kansas City for a March 31 soccer friendly against Paraguay, the two national teams announced Thursday. The match will start at 8 p.m. As part of its annual U.S. tour, Mexico will also face Ecuador on March 28 in Los Angeles.
The match in Kansas City will mark Mexico’s first trip to Arrowhead Stadium. The last time the venue played host to a soccer game — a 2010 match between the then-Kansas City Wizards and Manchester United — it drew a city-record crowd of 52,424.
“We have put an emphasis on creating a sports and entertainment destination for fans of all ages, interests and backgrounds,” Chiefs president Mark Donovan said in a news release. “We know that the Mexican national team fans travel extremely well, and we are eager to have new fans experience everything special about Arrowhead and Kansas City.”
Tickets for the match will go on sale to the general public on Feb. 12.
