Comets beat Wave for first win of the season

It was the season premier for Kansas City Comets forward Leo Gibson on Friday night at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.

It also was the season opener for longtime Comets’ rival the Milwaukee Wave.

Consider Gibson the victor.

Gibson, who spent the end of last season recovering from a concussion, busted out for four goals and added three assists as the Comets rolled by the Wave 11-4.

The win was the first for the Comets on the Major Arena Soccer League season. The Comets lost in their season opener last week.

Kansas City continues its home stand with a game against the St. Louis Ambush on Nov. 13.
