Missouri
NORFORK: 84 degrees, clearing, normal. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: Stripers good on Bink’s Spoons and trolling for fish suspended in 30 to 100 feet of water; walleyes very good on Bink’s Spoons on bottom off main lake points.
BLUE SPRINGS: 81 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: Bluegills good on nightcrawlers, wax worms and crickets in rocky areas; crappies fair on minnows over main-lake brush early in the morning; channel catfish good on liver, nightcrawlers and large minnows off the docks and in the coves; largemouth bass good on topwater frogs near the weed lines early in the morning; hybrid bass poor to fair on Rooster Tails and large swimbaits near the spillway early in the morning..
JACOMO: 82 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: Channel catfish good on nightcrawlers, cut shad and dip bait in the coves; largemouth bass good on minnows near drop-offs and subsurface baits along the shorelines early in the morning and evenings; white bass fair on pepper spoons early in the morning where fish are surfacing; walleyes poor.
LONGVIEW: 80 degrees, 34-inch clarity, normal. Outlook: Longview Marina reports: Crappies good on minnows in 8 to 12 feet of water lakewide; walleyes good on crankbaits trolling on flats from swim beach toward the dam and on bottom bouncers; bass fair to good on crankbaits and plastic baits fished shallow.
SMITHVILLE: 81 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Burton’s Bait and Tackle reports: Bass fair on jigs, creature baits, Brush Hogs in 4 feet of water in the timber and along creek edges; crappies fair on minnows in 10 to 12 feet of water in main-lake brush; channel catfish good on rod and reel with dip bait and on goldfish and large shiners on juglines; white bass fair where fish are surfacing early and late.
TRUMAN: 81 degrees, dingy half-foot high. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: Catfish good on rod and reel with cut shad and very good on juglines with cut shad; crappies very good on minnows around trees; bass good early. Below the dam: All species fair.
STOCKTON: 86 degrees, clear, 3 feet low. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: Crappies good on minnows in 18 feet of water in main-lake brush; walleyes fair to good on jigs with nightcrawlers in 22 feet of water; channel catfish very good drifting fresh shad in 10 to 20 feet of water; bass fair on large plastic worms in 18 to 20 feet of water.
TANEYCOMO: Below 50 degrees, very clear, variable generation. Outlook: Lilleys’ Landing Resort reports: Trout very good on 1/16th-ounce jigs, zebra midges and pink Trout Worms. Below the dam: Trout good on midges, scuds, wooly buggers, pine squirrels, sculpins and soft hackles. Two-pound test line has been the best.
TABLE ROCK: 87 degrees, very clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: Bass good off main-lake points and on flats in 35 feet of water; spotted bass good on jigs, drop-shot rigs and Dixie Jet flutter spoons; walleyes good, also on jigs, drop-shot rigs and flutter spoons; catfish fair to good on perch in timbered pockets on juglines; white bass fair to good early on topwater baits where fish are schooling.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 84 degrees, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: Bass fair (better at night) on 10-inch plastic worms, Brush Hogs in brush piles 20 feet down and deeper; crappies fair on minnows in 20 feet of water and deeper in brush piles; catfish fair on cut bait halfway back in coves.
REED AREA: 76 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: Largemouth bass good on soft plastic baits near cover early and late; channel catfish good on cut bait and chicken liver floated under a bobber 2 to 3 feet down; crappie slow; bluegills and redear sunfish good on worms and crickets.
BULL SHOALS: Low 90s, clear, normal. Outlook: 125 Marina reports: Most of the keeper fish being caught during the day are below the thermocline, which is at 22 feet; bass good on topwater lures early and on shallow-running crankbaits at night; catfish good on juglines and trotlines with cut bait; walleyes fair on bottom-bouncers with nightcrawlers.
POMME DE TERRE: 82 degrees, 4-foot clarity, normal. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: All species slow.
Kansas
WILSON: High 70s, clear, 4 feet low. Outlook: Knothead’s Bait and Tackle reports: Stripers good on slab spoons, salties in 25 to 45 feet of water; walleyes good on jigs with nightcrawlers in 30 to 40 feet of water; channel catfish good in 15 to 35 feet of water on live bait, stinkbait, liver lakewide; drum good in 10 to 15 feet of water on worms; white bass fair on live bait; smallmouth good on a variety of baits lakewide.
WYANDOTTE: 82 degrees, murky, normal. Outlook: Wyandotte Boats reports: Bass good early and late on plastic baits; bluegills good on crickets, mealworms; channel catfish fair at night on liver, shad, cut bluegills, prepared baits lakewide.
CLINTON: Mid-80s, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: Channel catfish good on dip bait in the timber in the bean holes; crappies fair on jigs, minnows in the brush.
PERRY: Mid-80s, clear, 2 feet high. Outlook: Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: Crappies good on minnows, jigs, Bobby Garland baits in 15 to 17 feet of water in main-lake brush; channel catfish good on dip bait in the bean holes; blue catfish good (but mostly below the length limit) above Apple Valley drifting with shad along old river channels in 35 feet of water; white bass good on Bubbas, mostly early and late.
POMONA: 86 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Lighthouse Bay Marina reports: Crappies good early on jigs 10 feet down in top of brush; catfish good on nightcrawlers and prepared baits lakewide; wipers good trolling with divers; white bass good where shad are surfacing.
LaCYGNE: Mid-90s, clear, normal. Outlook: Linn County Parks reports: White bass fair to good on jigs; flathead and blue catfish fair on rod and reel with live bait; largemouth spotty.
GLEN ELDER: 87 degrees, clear, near normal. Outlook: Wayne’s Sporting Goods reports: White bass fair where fish are surfacing; catfish good on dip bait in bean holes; white bass fair where surfacing and trolling with Shad Raps and Flicker Shad; wipers fair while trolling; walleyes slow.
COFFEY COUNTY: 85 degrees midlake, clear, normal. Outlook: Coffey County reports: Smallmouth bass good; other species slow.
KILL CREEK: 86 degrees, murky, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: Bass fair on plastic baits, spinnerbaits early along north shore; catfish fair on dough baits, liver along the banks on the north side of the lake; crappies and panfish fair.
SHAWNEE MISSION: 84 degrees, murky, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: Bass fair early on spinnerbaits, plastic baits; wipers fair on sunfish along the dam; catfish fair on dough baits, liver in the evening; panfish fair on worms along the banks; crappies fair early on minnows and jigs in middle cove and along south shore.
TUTTLE CREEK: 80 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: White bass fair (but good-sized) along drop-offs and close to the river channel; catfish very good on a variety of baits, natural and artificial.
HILLSDALE: 82 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Jayhawk Marina reports: Crappies fair on minnows and jigs with niblets in the channel in 20 feet of water; catfish good on a variety of baits in the mouths of creeks; bass fair.
MILFORD: 83 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: Blue green algae evident above the town of Milford. Wipers fair on jigging spoons, Bubbas and topwater swimbaits; smallmouth bass good (but mostly small) on plastic baits.
MELVERN: 82 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Melvern Marina reports: Crappies good on minnows in the brush.
