Missouri
NORFORK: 57 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: stripers excellent on stickbaits at night along the banks; smallmouth bass good on creature baits in the shallows; walleyes fair on crankbaits, plastic baits in 12 feet of water.
TABLE ROCK: 53 degrees, off-color, normal. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: largemouth, smallmouth, Kentucky bass good on 1/2 -ounce jigs, suspending stickbaits, crankbaits along windy, chunk-rock banks.
TANEYCOMO: Stained, variable power generation. Outlook: Lilleys’ Landing reports: below Fall Creek: rainbow trout good on air-inflated night crawlers and yellow and orange PowerBait. Trophy Area: trout good on peach-colored egg flies and white shad flies.
REED AREA: 57 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: bass fair on plastic baits near brush; channel catfish fair on cut bait, worms; crappies good on tube jigs, minnows near brush, along old weed lines; trout good on PowerBait, small jigs.
LONGVIEW: 51 degrees, 2-foot clarity, near normal. Outlook: Longview Marina reports: crappies good on jigs, minnows off the marina docks.
TRUMAN: 52 degrees, fairly clear, near normal. Outlook: Cody’s Bait and Tackle reports: catfish good on cut bait in 20 to 25 feet of water; crappies fair on jigs, minnows spider rigging or dipping the brush with minnows but scattered. Below the dam: crappies, white bass fair to good on jigs.
POMME DE TERRE: 50 degrees, clearing, normal. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: bass fair to good on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, stickbaits in 10 feet of water; crappies fair on jigs, minnows 15 feet down in 20 feet of water along docks and in the brush; walleyes fair on stickbaits in the shallows; muskies poor to fair trolling crankbaits.
BULL SHOALS: Low 50s, clear, near normal. Outlook: Buck Creek Boat Dock reports: bass good on Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, jigs in 5 to 15 feet of water in the creeks and off secondary points; crappies fair on live minnows, Swimming Minnows in 25 feet of water; white bass fair on in-line spinners, Swimming Minnows in the creeks.
STOCKTON: 55 degrees, clear, 1 foot high. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: white bass fair on jigs in the shallows in the creeks; crappies fair on jigs in 5 to 8 feet of water along the banks.
JACOMO: 51 degrees, stained, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows under bobbers out from banks (fish are still in prespawn stage); channel catfish fair on worms off points and docks; bass good on plastic baits, crankbaits in the shallows.
BLUE SPRINGS: Low 50s, stained, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair to good on minnows, jigs off the marina docks; channel catfish fair on worms in the coves; bluegills good on waxworms along dam and in rocky areas; bass fair to good on a variety of baits in the shallows.
SMITHVILLE: 50 degrees, fairly clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Burton’s Bait and Tackle reports: bass fair on suspending stickbaits, spinnerbaits in the shallows; crappies fair on jigs off the marina docks; channel catfish good on a variety of baits off the shallow points; walleyes fair on Rapalas, Rogues along the face of the dam at night.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 46 degrees, murky, 5 feet low. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: blue catfish fair on cut bait along deep dropoffs; other species poor.
Kansas
WYANDOTTE: 54 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Wyandotte Boats reports: trout fair on a variety of baits; channel catfish good at night on shad, liver, night crawlers off deep points; bass fair to good on plastic baits in the shallows; white bass, wipers good trolling crankbaits on the main lake.
WILSON: Low 50s, clear, 10 feet low. Outlook: Knothead’s reports: walleyes fair on chartreuse jigs along the dam and off Lucas Point; smallmouth, largemouth bass, stripers fair to good on live bait in the Otoe area.
LaCYGNE: 60s, clear, normal. Outlook: Linn County Parks reports: largemouth bass fair to good on finesse baits along the riprap (two 7-pounders were caught this week); crappies fair to good along the outlet gate, sunken bridge.
TUTTLE CREEK: 52 degrees, clearing, 2 feet low. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: catfish good on cut bait from the bank on the north end.
COFFEY COUNTY: 80 degrees at the hot-water outlet, 60s on the main lake, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Coffey County reports: white bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass fair.
PERRY: 50 degrees on main lake, murky, near normal. Outlook: Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows around bridges in Slough Creek and Rock Creek.
SHAWNEE MISSION: 50 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: trout fair on worms, PowerBait (fish are scattered); crappies fair on minnows in deep water; wipers fair on jigs across from the marina.
KILL CREEK: 52 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: trout fair (but scattered) on PowerBait, spinners; bass fair on spinnerbaits along the banks.
CLINTON: 54 degrees, fairly clear, near normal. Outlook: Clinton Marina reports: walleyes fair on crankbaits, jerkbaits along the dam at night; crappies poor to fair (fish are scattered; some being caught in brush).
MELVERN: 47 degrees, murky, clear, 1 1/2 feet low. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: crappies, walleyes fair on jigs, grubs in brush.
GLEN ELDER: 50 degrees, clear, 2 feet low. Outlook: Wayne’s Sporting Goods reports: white bass poor to fair (a few are being caught on the west side); walleyes fair on jerkbaits, twisters along the dam; catfish fair on cut bait, night crawlers off Boulder Point and the causeway.
EL DORADO: 50 degrees, clear, 6 inches low. Outlook: Wildlife, Parks and Tourism reports: crappies poor to fair (fish are scattered); walleyes poor to fair (a few are being caught along the dam and off rocky points.)
HILLSDALE: 52 degrees, murky, 1 1/2 feet low. Outlook: Jayhawk Marina reports: crappies poor to fair on jigs off the docks; walleyes poor to fair.
