Missouri
TABLE ROCK: 52 to 56 degrees, clear in the river arms, dingy on the main lake, normal. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: black bass excellent on Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, crankbaits along windy, ledge-rock banks; crappies fair to good on jigs in Long Creek arm; white bass good to very good on Shad Raps, Alabama rigs, crankbaits in the rivers.
NORFORK: 51 degrees, clear, near normal. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: stripers, hybrids good on jerkbaits in 5 feet of water.
TRUMAN: 55 degrees, clear, 6 inches high. Outlook: Steve Blake Guide Service reports: bass good on chartreuse spinnerbaits, jigs in back of creeks and on jerkbaits off main-lake points; crappies good on jigs, minnows in 2 to 4 feet of water in back of creeks; white bass, hybrids fair on Rat-L-Traps in the creeks.
BULL SHOALS: Low 50s, clear, normal. Outlook: Buck Creek Boat Dock reports: bass good on Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, crankbaits in 5 to 15 feet of water in creeks; white bass poor to fair on spinners in major creeks.
STOCKTON: Low 50s, clear, 1 foot high. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: white bass very good on white jigs in the rivers; walleyes good on jerkbaits off main-lake points in the evening and at night; crappies fair on jigs in 20 feet of water in brush off main-lake points; bass fair on spinnerbaits, jigs in 6 to 9 feet of water off main-lake points.
TANEYCOMO: Stained, no power generation. Outlook: Lilleys’ Landing reports: rainbow trout good on 3-32nd-ounce white jigs, and orange and pink micro jigs. Trophy Area: trout excellent on a variety of flies.
SMITHVILLE: 48 degrees, fairly clear, 1 1/2 feet low. Outlook: Burton’s Bait and Tackle reports: bass fair on suspending stickbaits, spinnerbaits off rocky points; crappies fair on jigs in main-lake brush and off marina docks; channel catfish very good on shad, lover, night crawlers on the north end and in the Little Platte River.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 43 degrees, dingy, 5 feet low. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: crappies fair on jigs suspended in the brush in the Gravois and Indian Creek arms; blue catfish fair on cut bait in back of coves.
REED AREA: 50 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: bass fair on plastic baits near brush; channel catfish fair on cut bait, worms; crappies fair to good on tube jigs, minnows near brush, along old weed lines; trout fair on PowerBait, small jigs.
JACOMO: 50 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair to good on minnows, jigs off the marina docks; walleyes poor to fair (a few are being caught at night on stickbaits, night crawlers along the dam); bass fair to good on spinnerbaits, stickbaits along windy banks.
LONGVIEW: 49 degrees, 24-inch clarity, near normal. Outlook: Longview Marina reports: crappies good on jigs off the marina docks.
BLUE SPRINGS: High 40s, stained, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair to good on jigs, minnows off the marina docks; catfish poor to fair (a few are being caught on worms off the deep points); bluegills fair on wax worms, redworms in rocky shallows.
POMME DE TERRE: 48 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: crappies fair on minnows in brush; walleyes poor to fair on jerkbaits in rocky areas.
Kansas
WYANDOTTE: 52 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Wyandotte Boats reports: trout excellent on PowerBait, Little Cleos in the back of coves; channel catfish good on night crawlers, shad sides in the creeks and along the Grassy Slope.
LaCYGNE: 55 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Linn County Parks reports: white bass good on jigging spoons at hot-water outlet; crappies good to very good on jigs; bass fair on small crankbaits; blue catfish very good on rod and reel with cut shad.
WILSON: High 40s, clear, 10 feet low. Outlook: Knothead’s reports: stripers, white bass good on jigging spoons on the west end and in the Hell Creek area; crappies fair on jigs in 20 feet of water in brush; catfish good on shad on the west end.
MILFORD: High 40s, fairly clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: crappies poor to fair on jigs in 10 to 18 feet of water in the brush; wipers fair on jigging spoons in 25 to 30 feet of water in Farnum Creek area and on north end; blue catfish very good on cut bait, shad on the north end.
TUTTLE CREEK: High 40s, murky, 2 feet low. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: crappies fair on jigs on the north end; catfish good on cut shad on the north end.
PERRY: 48 degrees, dingy, 1 foot low. Outlook: Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair; blue catfish good on cut shad north of the Highway 92 bridge.
COFFEY COUNTY: 77 degrees at the hot-water outlet, 59 degrees on the main lake, murky, normal. Outlook: Coffey County reports: largemouth bass fair; smallmouth bass fair to good; white bass fair to good.
SHAWNEE MISSION: 48 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: trout fair on PowerBait, spinners, night crawlers in the morning along the north shore; crappies fair on minnows in deep water. Lake will be restocked with trout Friday afternoon. Lake will then be closed to fishing but will reopen at 5 a.m. Saturday.
KILL CREEK: 50 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Rec District reports: trout fair on PowerBait along the north side of the lake; bass fair on spinnerbaits along south shore. Lake will be restocked with trout Friday afternoon, then it will be closed to fishing until 5 a.m. Saturday.
POMONA: Low 40s, fairly clear, 1 1/4 feet low. Outlook: Lighthouse Bay Marina reports: crappies good on jigs in the brush in the Dragoon arm, poor to fair on jigs off the docks.
EL DORADO: 48 degrees, clear, 6 inches low. Outlook: Wildlife, Parks and Tourism reports: crappies fair to good on jigs from sunrise to 10 a.m. in 14 to 18 feet of water in brush.
CLINTON: Mid-40s, clear, normal. Outlook: Clinton Lake Marina reports: crappies fair on jigs off marina docks; Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: walleyes fair on jigs, jerkbaits along the dam at night.
MELVERN: 42 degrees, clear, 1 1/2 feet low. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: crappies fair on ice jigs off the marina docks.
HILLSDALE: 46 degrees, murky, 1 1/2 feet low. Outlook: Jayhawk Marina reports: channel catfish fair on shad, cut bait in the shallows.
GLEN ELDER: High 40s, clear, 2 feet low. Outlook: Wayne’s Sporting Goods reports: all species poor.

Brent’s best bet
With water temperatures climbing into the 50s, the bass are tearing it up at Table Rock Lake. Excellent fishing has been reported at the Ozarks lake, especially along windy, channel-ledge banks.
