Fishing

Missouri

BULL SHOALS: 50 degrees, clear, near normal. Outlook: Buck Creek Marina reports: all species of black bass good on Alabama rigs, jerkbaits in 10 to 15 feet of water in major creeks; white bass fair on jigs, spinners in major creeks.

TRUMAN: 43 degrees, murky, 1 foot high. Outlook: Cody’s Bait and Tackle reports: catfish good on fresh-cut shad in 18 to 30 feet of water; crappies fair to good on minnows, jigs in 12 to 17 feet of water in the brush in creeks. Below the dam: catfish poor to fair on shad.

NORFORK: 49 degrees, clear, near normal. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: stripers good trolling or spooning at the mouths of the rivers; white bass fair on spoons, jigs at the mouths of the creeks; bass good on grubs, jigs in 35 feet of water along the bluff banks.

TANEYCOMO: Stained, 1 unit running. Outlook: Lilleys’ Landing reports: rainbow trout very good drifting scented bait, night crawlers below Fall Creek and trolling Shad Raps below Branson Landing; on  1/32 -ounce white or orange jigs below a strike indicator, and on glow balls in the Trophy Area.

TABLE ROCK: 50 degrees, clear in the creek arms, dingy on the main lake, normal. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: black bass good early on crankbaits and during the day on Alabama rigs along transition banks and bluff ends in river arms.

SMITHVILLE: Low 40s, clear, 1  1/2 feet low. Outlook: Burton’s Bait and Tackle reports: crappies good on jigs in the river arms along channel edges.

LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 41 degrees, fairly clear, 5 feet low. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: crappies good on blue or brown jigs 4 feet under a bobber in 12 to 15 feet of water over the brush (especially along windy banks); catfish fair on cut bait in 12 to 15 feet of water in the coves.

REED AREA: Mid-30s, clear, normal. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: crappies fair on jigs under bobbers above the brush; trout fair on a variety of baits.

JACOMO: Low-40s, clear, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair on jigging spoons, jigs off the marina docks and in main-lake brush.

LONGVIEW: 41 degrees, stained, near normal. Outlook: Longview Marina reports: crappies good on Kastmasters, jigs off the marina docks.

BLUE SPRINGS: 40 degrees, stained, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair to good on ice jigs, small minnows off the marina docks; walleyes poor to fair on suspending stickbaits in the deep water in front of the dam.

POMME DE TERRE: 48 degrees, murky, normal. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows in 15 to 25 feet of water in brush.

STOCKTON: 43 degrees, clear, 2  1/2 feet high. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: all species poor.

Kansas

PERRY: Low 40s, fairly clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: crappies good to very good in 15 to 20 feet of water off marina docks and in main-lake brush; catfish good on shad in 3 feet of water north of Highway 92 bridge near Ozawkie.

WILSON: 40 degrees, clear, 10 feet low. Outlook: Knothead’s reports: white bass, stripers good on jigs, spoons, night crawlers in Hell Creek area and on west end of lake; channel catfish fair on fresh shad.

COFFEY COUNTY: 77 degrees at the hot-water outlet, mid-50s on the main lake, clear, normal. Outlook: Coffey County reports: largemouth, smallmouth bass good; white bass fair.

POMONA: Low 40s , fairly clear, 1  1/2 feet low. Outlook: Lighthouse Bay Marina reports: crappies good on jigs off the marina docks.

EL DORADO: 39 degrees, clear, 6 inches low. Outlook: Wildlife, Parks and Tourism reports: crappies fair to good on jigs from sunrise to 10 a.m. in 14 to 18 feet of water in brush.

CLINTON: Low 40s, clear, normal. Outlook: Clinton Lake Marina reports: crappies fair to good in 15 to 20 feet of water in brush and poor to fair on jigs off the marina docks.

MELVERN: 37 degrees, clear, 1  1/2 feet low. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: crappies fair (but small) on ice jigs off the marina docks.

HILLSDALE: 43 degrees, clearing, 1  1/2 feet low. Outlook: Jayhawk Marina reports: channel catfish poor to fair on chicken livers off the marina docks.

MILFORD: Low 40s, fairly clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: crappies poor to fair in main-lake brush.

GLEN ELDER: Low 40s, fairly clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Wayne’s Sporting Goods reports: all species poor.

TUTTLE CREEK: Low 40s, murky, 2 feet low. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: all species poor.

LA CYGNE: 50s, clear, normal. Outlook: Linn County Park reports: all species poor.

The recent warm weather has the bass stirring at Ozarks reservoirs. Good fishing has been reported at Bull Shoals, Table Rock and Norfork lakes.
