Missouri
NORFORK: 63 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: stripers good trolling crankbaits or using jigging spoons in the river; bass good on crankbaits, spinnerbaits; crappies good on 1/4 -ounce Bink’s spoons in corps of engineers brush piles.
LONGVIEW: 58 degrees, 38-inch clarity, 1 foot low. Outlook: Longview Lake Marina reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows off the marina docks.
TRUMAN: 60 degrees, murky , 1 foot low. Outlook: Cody’s Guide Service reports: crappies fair to good on jigs in 20 feet of water along bluffs; catfish good drifting in water from 20 to 60 feet of water on cut shad. Below the dam: white bass poor to fair on a variety of baits.
TABLE ROCK: Low 60s, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Guide Eric Prey reports: bass fair on Jewel football jigs with plastic trailers along ledge banks in the dam area and on crankbaits along woody cover in the James River arm.
BULL SHOALS: Low 60s, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: 125 Marina reports: smallmouth bass good early on topwater lures and spinnerbaits, and during the day on jigging spoons in 20 feet of water off main-lake points and along windy banks; catfish fair on trotlines with live bait.
SMITHVILLE: 59 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Burton’s Bait and Tackle reports: crappies good on minnows 8 to 10 feet down in 20 feet of water in main-lake brush; channel catfish good on cut bait, night crawlers in the back of coves and in the shallows on flats.
LAKE OF THE OZARKS: 63 degrees, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows in 2 to 12 feet of water along bluffs and in the brush; bass poor to fair (a few are being caught on soft-plastic baits, jigs off main-lake and secondary points).
JACOMO: 59 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies good on minnows near the docks; bluegills good on crickets; channel catfish fair on minnows in Liggett Cove.
BLUE SPRINGS: High 50s, clear, normal. Outlook: Forty Woods Bait and Tackle reports: crappies good on small minnows, small jigs near the docks; hybrids fair on swimbaits; bluegills good on crickets.
REED AREA: 57 degrees, clear, full pool. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: Wildlife area will be closed to fishing through Friday while a managed deer hunt is being held.
STOCKTON: 57 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: crappies fair on jigs in 20 to 30 feet of water along bluffs.
TANEYCOMO: Clear, very little current. Outlook: Lilleys’ Landing reports: trout poor to fair.
POMME DE TERRE: 60 degrees, dingy, normal. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: all species poor.
Kansas
WILSON: 55 degrees, clear, 10 feet low. Outlook: Knothead’s reports: largemouth, smallmouth bass, stripers good on shad in 15 feet of water in coves.
PERRY: 59 degrees, murky, normal. Outlook: Don and Tom’s Bait and Tackle reports: crappies fair on orange or chartreuse jigs in 7 to 10 feet of water (many small fish are being caught); white bass fair on jigs, jigging spoons at the Highway 92 bridge; catfish good drifting shad in 35 feet of water.
CLINTON: 57 degrees, clear, 1 foot high. Outlook: Clinton Lake Marina reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows in main-lake brush and off marina docks.
WYANDOTTE: 57 degrees, muddy on the south end, clear on the north end, normal. Outlook: Wyandotte Boats reports: crappies good early (from 7 to 9 a.m.) and late (at dusk) on jigs, minnows in the mouths of coves; bass good on soft-plastic baits along weed edges; channel catfish fair on liver, hot dogs.
POMONA: 57 degrees, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Lighthouse Bay Marina reports: crappies fair on jigs in 6 to 8 feet of water in the brush and off docks; white bass fair on jigging spoons off main-lake points.
MELVERN: 57 degrees, murky, 1 foot low. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: crappies, walleyes poor to fair on jigs, minnows in 12 to 16 feet of water off marina docks.
MILFORD: 57 degrees, dingy, 1 foot high. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: white bass, wipers fair on Bubbas, Crappie Flutters.
LA CYGNE: 70s on the main lake, clear, 1 foot low. Outlook: Linn County Park reports: largemouth bass fair to good on plastic baits, jig and pig.
KILL CREEK: 59 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: trout fair on a variety of baits.
SHAWNEE MISSION: High 50s, clear, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: trout good on yellow PowerBait, Little Cleos on east end of lake.
EL DORADO: 55 degrees, fairly clear, 1 1/2 feet low. Outlook: Wildlife, Parks and Tourism reports: wipers, white bass fair to good on jigging spoons, crankbaits where creeks enter lake; crappies fair on jigs in 10 to 12 feet of water along channel dropoffs.
GLEN ELDER: High 50s, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Wayne’s Sporting Goods reports: light fishing pressure; white bass fair to good along causeway and dam.
HILLSDALE: 56 degrees, fairly clear, 1/2 -foot high. Outlook: Jayhawk Marina reports: crappies fair on jigs, minnows in brush and off marina docks; white bass fair on jigs off windy points.
TUTTLE CREEK: Low 60s, muddy, normal. Outlook: Guide Vic Oertle reports: all species poor.
COFFEY COUNTY: High 60s midlake, stained, normal. Outlook: Coffey County reports: all species poor.
Hunting
Missouri
FOUNTAIN GROVE: 24,000 ducks; 150 Canada geese. Seventeen water blinds, 18 walk-ins are in use. Hunting has been poor. On Nov. 14-15, 169 hunters took 211 ducks.
SWAN LAKE: 80,840 ducks (mostly pintails, mallards); 90 geese (mostly snows).
SQUAW CREEK: 61,110 ducks (85 percent dabblers); 5,985 geese (85 percent dark geese).
NODAWAY VALLEY: 17,945 ducks (mostly pintails, teal). Light hunting pressure. Hunting has been good. On Nov. 14-15, 52 hunters shot 166 ducks.
BOB BROWN: 23,400 ducks (mosly pintails, gadwalls); no geese. Heavy hunting pressure. Hunting has been good. On Nov. 17, hunters averaged 3.34 ducks.
GRAND PASS: 80,000 ducks (mostly mallards, teal, pintails, gadwalls and ringnecks). Hunting 23 parties. Hunting has been fair to good. On Nov. 14-15, 156 hunters shot 449 ducks.
FOUR RIVERS: 23,900 ducks (mostly mallards). Hunting 20 parties. Light hunting pressure. On Nov. 14-15, 69 hunters shot 41 ducks.
SCHELL-OSAGE: 9,775 ducks; 450 geese. Hunting 36 positions. Hunting has been good. On Nov. 14-15, 138 hunters shot 176 ducks.
MONTROSE: 5,500 ducks (a mix of species). Light hunting pressure. On Nov. 14-15, 28 hunters shot 24 ducks.
SMITHVILLE: 9,000 big ducks; 2,000 Canada geese. Hunting has been good.
OTTER SLOUGH: 25,500 ducks (mix of species); 100 geese. Heavy hunting pressure. Hunting 30 positions. Hunting has been good. On Nov. 14-15, 212 hunters shot 394 ducks.
DUCK CREEK: 13,700 ducks (mix of species); 65 Canada geese. Hunting 15 positions. Heavy pressure. On Nov. 14-15, 188 hunters shot 197 ducks.
Kansas
CHEYENNE BOTTOMS: 20,000 ducks (mostly gadwalls,wigeons, shovelers, redheads); 150,000 geese (mostly whitefronts). Pools are losing water. Hunting has been poor to fair. From Nov. 13-16, hunters averaged 1.5 ducks daily.
MARAIS DES CYGNES: 8,000 ducks (mostly early migrants); 500 resident geese. Water conditions are fair to good. Hunting is poor to fair.
NEOSHO: 12,000 ducks (mix of species). Good water in Pools 1, 2 and 4. On opening weekend, 150 hunters shot 184 ducks.
FLINT HILLS: 1,100 ducks (mostly gadwalls and mallards); 100 dark geese. Hunting has been poor.
PERRY: 10,000 ducks (mostly gadwalls, shovelers, green-winged teal); several hundred Canada geese. Hunting has been fair to good.
TUTTLE CREEK: Low waterfowl numbers. Habitat is poor because of earlier flooding.
MILFORD: 500 ducks (mostly pintails, teal, shovelers). Habitat conditions poor.
QUIVIRA: 5,050 ducks (mostly pintails and mallards); 12,320 geese (half darks, half whites); 10,000 sandhill cranes. Hunting is closed because of whooping cranes on the refuge.
MELVERN: Low duck numbers (mostly redheads, gadwalls). Hunting has been fair.
CLINTON: 450 ducks (mostly mallard, spintails, gadwalls); 80 geese. Most waterfowl staying on the refuge in Elm Creek. Good water conditions in marshes.
HILLSDALE: Few waterfowl in the wildlife area. Water conditions fair to good, habitat very good except Brown’s Marsh, which has been drained for maintenance.
KIRWIN: 5,000 ducks (mostly mallards); 10,000 geese (75 percent darks). Hunting has been fair.
GLEN ELDER: 12,000 ducks (65 percent divers); 4,500 geese (90 percent darks). Hunting fair.
McPHERSON WETLANDS: 1,200 ducks (mostly green-winged teal and mallards); 70 dark geese. Marshes are losing water. In last week, 66 hunters shot 98 ducks.
JAMESTOWN: 1,300 ducks (mostly gadwalls, mallards, redheads); 50 Canada geese. In last week, hunters averaged two birds daily.
