Lure of the week: The Live Target Sunfish

Small panfish are candy for bass and other predators.

So it’s no wonder that the Live Target Hollow Body Sunfish is making waves in the fishing world.

The soft-plastic topwater bait, which was named best soft lure at the recent ICAST show that previews new fishing tackle, has the looks and action of a winner.

First, it has the life-like coloration and design of panfish, and comes in 12 different models, imitating everything from bluegills to pumpkinseeds. Second, it is weedless, so it can be slowly retrieved over and through heavy vegetation. Third, it can be retrieved to imitate the slow, meandering swim of a small panfish.

It should be on the market sometime this fall. It will retail for about $14.
