You can’t make this stuff up

So, you have problems with large flocks of geese invading your golf course or athletic fields?

Who you gonna call? No, not the Ghost Busters.

The Goosinator.

Well, the people who make that big orange goose-chaser, anyway.

Several years ago, Randy Claussen of Denver came up with a unique way to chase the geese away from the golf course where his brother-in-law served as groundskeeper.

He invented the Goosinator, an orange remote-control drone with a menacing face and an ability to travel both on land and water. The device is made of a durable foam and stands 17 inches tall and measures 40 inches in length.

It’s better than trained dog or “bangers” that go off at intervals, causing the geese to temporarily move, Claussen said. The battery-powered Goosinator will strike fear into flocks of Canadas, causing them to stay away.

It isn’t cheap. It costs $3,500. But Claussen reasons that his invention will pay off in the long run, eliminating the cost of manpower to clean up the goose droppings or hiring a dog service to chase the geese away.

Several golf courses have purchased the Goosinator and found success.
