▪ TRUMAN: 35 degrees, clear, one-half foot high. Ice-covered in spots. Outlook: Tightwad Bait and Tackle reports: all species poor.
▪ NORFORK: 42 degrees, clear, 5 feet low. Many ramps are iced-in. Outlook: Bink’s Guide Service reports: all species poor due to conditions.
▪ BULL SHOALS: 42 degrees, clear, 6 1/2 feet low. Outlook: 125 Marina reports: very little fishing pressure due to cold. No reports.
▪ TABLE ROCK: 42 degrees, clear, 5 1/2 feet low. Ramps have ice. Outlook: White River Lodge reports: Very little fishing pressure. No reports.
▪ SMITHVILLE: 37 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Camp Branch Marina reports: all species poor.
▪ POMME DE TERRE: 34 degrees, clear, 3 feet low. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: very little fishing pressure due to cold and snow. No reports.

▪ GRAND (OKLA.): 38 to 41 degrees, fairly clear, normal. Outlook: Jeff Williams reports: crappies good on Crappie Kickers, minnows in 15 feet of water in brush and along docks; white bass fair trolling Go-Go Minnows, Rooster Tails in the Spring River north of the Twin Bridges; catfish very good on fresh or frozen shad soaked in Dead Red attractant along deep ledges, dropoffs. Sheldon Collings reports: bass good on finesse worms, Flutter Spoons off main-lake points and rock banks adjacent to deep water.
▪ WHITE RIVER (ARK.): Clear, heavy generation early, tapering off by early afternoon. Outlook: Gaston’s White River Resort reports: Fly fishing: trout good in early afternoon when current has declined on white, olive or black jigs, nymphs, midges, sculpins, egg patterns, wooly buggers. Spin fishing: rainbow trout good to excellent on one-eigbth 1/8th-ounce white or white-gray jigs. Brown trout good on stickbaits, Rapalas.

Brent’s best bet
The winter fishing is heating up at Grand Lake in Oklahoma. Largemouth bass are starting to hit, with good-sized fish being caught along channel-swing banks and points. Blue catfish also are biting along deep ledges and dropoffs. And crappies are hitting in 15 feet of water in the brush and along docks.
