Missouri Mavericks clinch division title with 6-3 win over Allen Americans
The Missouri Mavericks clinched the ECHL’s Central Division title with a 6-3 win over the Allen Americans on Wednesday night.
The Mavs came back from a 2-0 deficit with back-to-back goals from Andrew Courtney and an impressive debut from amateur forward Darren Nowick contributing to the victory.
The Mavericks lead the league with an overall record of 47-8-3-2.
▪ The Mavericks announced that goaltender Josh Robinson has been returned to the team after being loaned to the Springfield (Mass.) Falcons of the American Hockey League. Robinson won 21 straight games for the Mavs before leaving the team.
▪ The team signed Nowick to an amateur tryout contract. Nowick played at Northern Michigan University.
