Missouri Mavericks player selected as league’s Goaltender of Month
Mavericks goalie Josh Robinson was chosen as the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for his performance in December.
Robinson has a nearly unblemished record of 17-0-0-1 and leads the league in wins, tied for second for the ECHL record.
Mavs, Tigers swap players
The Mavericks and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League have completed more than 10 transactions over the past month under their affiliation agreement.
Carter Verhaeghe, Colin Markison and Pat Cullity have been recalled by the Connecticut team from the Mavericks, while Jesse Root, Josh Holmstrom and Matt Finn were reassaigned this week by the Tigers to the ECHL.
Goaltender added to roster
Missouri was assigned goaltender Stephon Williams on Wednesday. Williams, 22, a native of Fairbanks, Alaska, signed a two-year entry-level contract with the New York Islanders, the Mavericks’ National Hockey League affiliate, last April after being drafted in the fourth round (the 106th selection overall) in the 2013 NHL entry draft.
