Kansas City Mavericks beat Allen Americans in Texas, even ECHL series at 2 wins apiece
The Kansas City Mavericks have a brand new playoff series on their hands.
They assured themselves of a fresh start Friday in Allen, Texas, beating the Allen Americans 2-1 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.
Friday night’s outcome evened the teams’ ECHL Kelly Cup playoff series at two wins apiece. The remaining games in the best-of-seven series will be in Allen, Texas, starting with Saturday’s Game 5.
Loren Ulett scored in the opening period (assisted by Theo Calvas and Cade Borchardt) and Ryan Harrison netted the eventual game-winner in the third (with Luke Stevens providing the assist).
Goalie Shane Starrett saved 24 saves in a series that’s been a dogfight since its outset. All four games have been decided by a single goal.
