Missouri Mavericks will open 2015-16 season with trip to Alaska

The Missouri Mavericks will open the 2015-16 season with a three-game series against the Alaska Aces, the team’s first-ever trip to Anchorage.

The full schedule was released on Monday for the Mavericks, who will open their seventh season as a franchise and second season as a member of the East Coast Hockey League with a game on Friday, Oct. 16 at Alaska.

The Mavericks’ schedule features 72 games, 36 each on the road and at home at the Independence Events Center.

Nine games against first-time ECHL visitors — the Indy Fuel, Cincinnati Cyclones, Colorado Eagles and South Carolina Stingrays — highlight the home schedule.

The team’s road schedule features two first-time opponents: the Alaska Aces and the Idaho Steelheads, who play in Boise.
