Last week, the Missouri Mavericks played three games in four days and came away with two of a possible six points in the standings.

They’ve earned at least one standings point in four of their last five and are three points out of the fourth playoff spot in the ECHL’s Mountain Division. This despite playing just six games so far on home ice at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena — the fewest home games of any team in the league.

Mavs’ ECHL record: 8-9-3, fifth in Mountain Division.

Last week (0-1-2): Allen held the Mavs scoreless for the second time this year in a 1-0 game on Nov. 30. Joel Chouinard’s power-play goal at the 10:08 mark of the third period proved to be the winner. ... Friday, the Mavs scored three goals over the first 4:15 of the final period to lead 5-1, but Fort Wayne tied it at 5 by scoring twice in the final minute and won 6-5 with a goal one minute into overtime. ... Saturday brought a 4-3 shootout loss at Cincinnati after the Mavs had battled back from a 2-0 deficit.

This week: Wednesday at Allen Americans, 7:05 p.m.; Friday at Tulsa Oilers, 7:05 p.m.; Saturday vs. Tulsa Oilers, 7:05 p.m.; Sunday at Wichita Thunder, 4:05 p.m.

The Mavericks and Americans will face each other for the second time in as many weeks, and third time in four weeks. The Mavs’ previous two games at Allen this season ended in losses, 6-4 and 4-0, in October. Allen’s Chad Costello (7 goals, 24 assists in 23 games) is the ECHL’s leading scorer. ... This weekend delivers the second home-and-home series of the season between the Oilers and Mavs. The Oilers are 10-2-2 at home this season, but Missouri is a solid 4-1-2 in its last seven road games. ... Missouri and Wichita haven’t played since Oct. 21 in Wichita, when the Thunder won 4-1.

Leaders: Goals: Sam Povorozniouk/Dane Fox/Rocco Carzo, 7; assists: Fox, 10 points: Fox, 17; wins: Robinson, 4.

Notable: Rookie forward Dan Correale has six points (3g, 3a) and a +3 rating in his last six games. Over his first 11 games, he had one assist and a -6 rating. ... The Mavs are tied for the second-most road games played so far. Only Reading and Kalamazoo (15) have played more than Missouri’s 14. ... Missouri went 11-for-12 on the penalty kill last week to improve to 88.9 percent, or fifth in the league. ... Dane Fox broke out of a four-game scoreless drought with four points in two games last week. ... All Mavs games are streamed live on MissouriMavericks.com and on their mobile app.
