Mavericks back to .500 with road win against Indy
The Missouri Mavericks are heading home after a very successful road trip.
The Mavericks completed a weekend sweep of the Indy Fuel with a 2-1 victory Sunday in Indianapolis. Missouri finished with four wins in its five-game road trip and improved to 8-8-1 this season.
Sunday’s win extended the Mavericks’ winning streak against the Fuel to nine games.
Rocco Carzo scored for the Mavericks in the first period, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games.
The Fuel tied it on Tyler Currier’s goal 3:57 into the second period. Kevin Tansey put Missouri back on top with a short-handed goal at 5:31 of the period.
Mavericks goalie Ville Husso had a busy day in his second start of the road trip, stopping 41 shots.
Missouri returns home to the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on Wednesday for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Allen Americans.
