All four Chiefs QBs will play a quarter each during Thursday’s game

The Kansas City Star

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said all four quarterbacks would play a quarter in Thursday night’s preseason opener against Cincinnati.

Starter Alex Smith is comfortable with the arrangement. He’ll be followed by Chase Daniel, Tyler Bray and rookie Aaron Murray.

“It was that way last year ..it’s to be expected,” Smith said. “You want to be effective in the game.

“We’re not game-planning, but you want to play well.”

Smith, whose contract expires at the end of the season, said he was unaware of the six-year, $116 million deal Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton signed until the Chiefs came off the field.

“I’m focused here on camp,” Smith said. “We have a game on Thursday. It just happens to be against those guys.”
