There may be times when the Chiefs use their three speedy outside linebackers — Justin Houston, Tamba Hali and Dee Ford — in the same formation.
When the Chiefs have done this in camp, Hali was on one side with Ford and Houston on the other. Houston is lined up to the inside of the rookie Ford, which puts the onus on the fourth-year pro to hold up better again the run, if necessary.
But Houston, who checks in at 6 feet 3 and 258 pounds, says he's up to the task.
“It’s less space and you’ve just got to use more power,” Houston said. “I feel like I’m strong enough to play inside and out.”
