Chiefs sign safety Jeron Johnson
The Chiefs have signed veteran safety Jeron Johnson, the club announced Friday.
Johnson joined the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent from Boise State in 2011 and was a member of Seattle’s Super Bowl winning team for the 2013 season, although he didn’t play in the game because of an injury.
He played for Washington last season, appearing in 14 games with two starts and recording 27 tackles, and was released in March.
To make room for Johnson, the Chiefs placed cornerback Shannon Edwards, a rookie free agent from Fresno State, on waivers. Edwards injured a shoulder in Friday’s practice.
