Chiefs re-sign Frank Zombo to three-year deal, a source says
Add another player to the list of Chiefs free agents who will return to Kansas City.
On Wednesday, the Chiefs signed outside linebacker Frank Zombo to a three-year deal worth $3.6 million, with another $750K available in incentives, a source told The Star.
Tom Pelissero of USA Today reported the news first.
Zombo, who turned 29 this month, is listed at 6 feet 3 and 254 pounds. He is a core special teamer for the Chiefs, someone who has also contributed on defense in the past. In 2015, he played in all 16 games, starting two, and finished with 19 tackles and three sacks.
His addition adds depth to a group that already includes two Pro Bowlers in Justin Houston and Tamba Hali and a 2014 first-round pick in Dee Ford. The Chiefs also signed fourth-year veteran Jonathan Massaquoi on Wednesday to compete for time at the position.
