Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe jokingly credits wristband for newfound spryness
Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe knows he is not the fleetest of foot, but for the second week in a row, he provided an explosive play.
After hurdling two defenders for a 22-yard gain in a loss to Arizona a week ago, Bowe hauled in a 15-yard dig and took it 37 yards in the Chiefs’ win over Oakland on Sunday.
“It was that much? Man, I didn’t know I had wheels like that,” Bowe said with a laugh. “I felt like my rookie year again, catching that.”
However, the 30-year jokingly credited his newfound spryness to a wristband he says he purchased in a mall in Arizona a week ago.
“I think I’m wearing this special band right there — it gives me power,” Bowe said. “See that battery (on there), it means something. It means my battery never runs out. I can just keep going and going.
“The guy that sold it to me said that LeGarrette Blount and others did some crazy things (with it). I said, ‘Let me grab it and see it.’ And I think it’s worth it.”
Bowe said he paid $10 for the wristband.
“Not bad,” he said. “… I’ll pay that every time.”
