Chiefs cut loose Frankie Hammond, promote Saalim Hakim

The Chiefs released receiver Frankie Hammond and signed cornerback Saalim Hakim from the practice squad on Monday.

Hakim, 25, is listed at 5 feet 11 and 188 pounds. He is the brother of former Rams star Az Hakim, and has spent time with the Jets, Lions and Saints as a receiver, cornerback and special-teamer.

In three games this season, Hammond has recorded a tackle. He did not catch any passes.
