Chiefs’ Tamba Hali returns to practice Thursday
Chiefs outside linebacker Tamba Hali, who is battling some swelling in his knee, was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice. He did not practice on Wednesday.
Three other Chiefs starters, however, missed their second straight practice due to injuries: receiver Jeremy Maclin (concussion), defensive end Mike DeVito (concussion) and inside linebacker Ramik Wilson (knee/ankle).
Outside linebacker Justin Houston (elbow) was a full participant Thursday after being limited Wednesday. Nose tackle Dontari Poe (ankle) was limited for the straight straight day of practice, while inside linebacker Josh Mauga (groin/Achilles’) was again a full participant. Both missed the Chiefs’ 16-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
Safety Husain Abdullah (bicep) was added to the injury report Thursday, but was a full participant.
Quarterback Alex Smith (thumb), kicker Cairo Santos (right foot), tight end Travis Kelce (facial laceration) and receiver Chris Conley (knee) were all full participants Thursday.
Steelers injuries
Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was again limited participant Thursday as he recovers from an MCL sprain and bone bruise.
One of four injured starters returned to practice in cornerback William Gay, who missed Wednesday’s practice for non-injury related reasons, while safety Will Allen (ankle), cornerback Antwon Blake (thumb) and defensive end Stephon Tuitt (knee) all sat.
Outside linebacker James Harrison (not injury related) and tight end Matt Spaeth (not injury related) were both full participants after sitting out Wednesday, while cornerback Cortez Allen (knee) was again limited, and quarterback Mike Vick (hamstring) again sat.
Outside linebacker Jarvis Jones (hip) and inside linebacker Ryan Shazier (shoulder) were full participants for the second straight day.
