Chiefs sign Peter Woods, expected to sign Mansoor Delane and complete class
The Chiefs have signed one of their first-round draft picks and are expected to sign the other as soon as today.
Defensive tackle Peter Woods, selected No. 29 overall, signed a four-year, $18 million fully guaranteed deal. YM APPA Sports agency reported the news to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Woods, who played at Clemson, was the second defensive tackle selected.
The Chiefs also are expected to sign their other first-round selection, cornerback Mansoor Delane. The Chiefs traded up three spots with the Cleveland Browns and took Delane, who played at LSU last season, with the No. 6 pick.
Woods and Delane will be the last of the seven-member rookie class to sign. The players have been with the Chiefs throughout organized team activities, which continue this week with mandatory minicamp.
