After the draft, here are rookies who have signed with the Chiefs as free agents

The Chiefs didn’t select a tight end in the NFL Draft, but they signed one soon after the completion of the seventh round, and he’s a local product.

John Michael Gyllenborg played the past four seasons at Wyoming after playing football and basketball at Rockhust High.

At Wyoming, Gyllenborg recorded 80 receptions for 1,023 yards and was second-team All-Mountain West in 2024.

The Chiefs made Cincinnati wide receiver Cyrus Allen a fifth-round pick, and they’ve signed the Bearcats’ other starting wideout, Jeff Caldwell, according to The Star’s Sam McDowell.

The Chiefs also signed Texas A&M running back EJ Smith. He’s the son of former Cowboys running back and Hall of Famer Emmett Smith.

Here’s a list of Chiefs’ undrafted rookie free-agent signings and mini-camp invitees as reported by McDowell, NFL.com, the schools and other sources.
