Chiefs face Texans, trying to keep playoff hopes alive: Download a poster for KC

After a 10-day break, the Chiefs are back in action and back home at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs will face the Houston Texans on “Sunday Night Football,” with kickoff at 7:20 p.m., broadcast on NBC (Channel 41 in Kansas City).

Kansas City has very little room for error in its bid for a playoff spot, sitting at 6-6 and No. 10 in the AFC standings. Houston, meanwhile, is on a four-game winning streak, with a 7-5 record and No. 8 in the playoff standings.

Headed into the game, the Chiefs are expected to be shorthanded on the offensive line due to injuries. Right guard Trey Smith and right tackle Jawaan Taylor were said Friday to be doubtful to return for Sunday night’s game. Starting left tackle Josh Simmons has already been put on injured reserve.

Still, Las Vegas is still picking the Chiefs as 3.5-point favorites (The Star’s Chiefs Insider Pete Sweeney has another take), and many fans across Kansas City are holding out hope. For those fans, The Star is offering a downloadable poster showing Xavier Worthy’s determination, illustrated by designer Neil Nakahodo. Only logged-in subscribers will be able to access the poster.
