Chiefs make game-day addition to injury report. Here’s the latest on Josh Simmons
Chiefs left tackle Josh Simmons will miss his first NFL game.
The Chiefs, after initially listing Simmons as “questionable” on an injury report Sunday afternoon, downgraded him to “out” more than two hours before their “Sunday Night Football” home game against the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs said Simmons would miss the game for personal reasons, not an injury.
Simmons, who has started each game of his rookie season in the NFL, had not been previously listed on the Chiefs’ injury reports this week.
NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo posted on social media that Simmons was dealing with a family issue in California.
Jaylon Moore serves as a backup to both tackle positions and likely will get the call against the Lions.. Moore, a free-agent addition to the Chiefs who spent his first four seasons as a pro with the San Francisco 49ers, has played 20 offensive snaps this season.
