KC Chiefs’ Travis Kelce fined by the NFL for obscene gesture vs. the Eagles
The NFL fined Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for an obscene gesture made after a reception in the team’s 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend.
In the third quarter of the Eagles’ victory, Kelce caught a pass from Patrick Mahomes and picked up 23 yards. After the play, Kelce made a gesture involving his groin area that the NFL deemed unsportsmanlike. Kelce can appeal his $14,491 fine.
Also from the game, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was fined $46,371 for unsportsmanlike conduct/use of helmet.
On one rushing attempt, Barkley lowered his head when bracing for a collision with Chiefs safety Chamarri Conner. The crown of Barkley’s helmet hit Conner in the facemask. No flag was thrown on the play.
Barkley’s fine was the most expensive of the 19 given to players by the NFL for Week 2 games.
